Breitling has unveiled the "Top Time B01 Chronograph 41 Tribute to Aston Martin DB5," a collaboration model with the Aston Martin DB5, known for its appearances in the James Bond films. This timepiece features a cushion-shaped case and mushroom-shaped pushers reminiscent of 1960s chronographs, while incorporating design elements such as a wooden inner ring inspired by the DB5's steering wheel and "squircle" shaped sub-dials reminiscent of the dashboard instruments of classic cars.

　Breitling has unveiled the "Top Time B01 Chronograph 41 Tribute to Aston Martin DB5," a limited-edition model dedicated to the iconic Aston Martin DB5, which was introduced in 1963. The DB5 has become synonymous with British culture, design, and innovation, and is considered a legendary car that propelled Aston Martin to its position as one of Britain's leading luxury brands. The newly announced model features a special design that incorporates the essence of the DB5.

The relationship between the James Bond film series, the DB5, and the racing car "Top Time"

　While the DB5 is a highly popular watch, its connection to the James Bond film series cannot be forgotten. In the 1965 film "Thunderball," the scene in which Sean Connery's James Bond drives a DB5 loaded with secret weapons captivated many film fans. Furthermore, in the film, James Bond is given a Breitling "Top Time" Ref. 2002 by "Q," who heads the special equipment development division of the British Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to which he belongs. This Top Time Ref. 2002 is the first modified watch that Q gives Bond and plays a key role in important scenes of the film. The appearance of the DB5 and Top Time together in the same film became an iconic moment in the history of 007 and product design.

　The newly unveiled TopTime B01 Chronograph 41 Tribute to Aston Martin DB5 features a cushion-shaped case reminiscent of 1960s chronographs, grooved corners, and mushroom-shaped pushers. It also incorporates car-inspired design elements, such as a wooden inner ring inspired by the DB5's steering wheel, a gradient strap with a motif of the interior leather, and "squircle" shaped sub-dials that combine squares and circles, reminiscent of the dashboard instruments of a classic car.

　Three variations will be released. The stainless steel model Ref.AB0178121G1X1 with a silver dial is the model that most strongly embodies the spirit of the original Top Time Ref.2002. The contrast between the silver dial, black sub-dials, and wooden inner ring is striking, bringing out the appeal of each element. This model is limited to 1022 pieces worldwide.

　The Ref. PB0178121B1X1 combines a black lacquer dial with a stainless steel case and features a platinum bezel. The black dial gives the watch a sporty feel, while the gleaming platinum bezel adds a sense of weight and presence. This model is limited to 315 pieces worldwide.

　The 18K red gold model Ref. RB0178131B1X1 is a particularly prestigious model in the collection. The black dial is Breitling's first to use natural onyx, possessing the unique depth and luster characteristic of natural stones. This model is the rarest, limited to only 250 pieces worldwide.

　Each model is engraved with a unique serial number. It is equipped with the Cal.01 automatic chronograph movement, a COSC chronometer certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute. Its column wheel structure and vertical clutch ensure smooth and precise operation, while its approximately 70-hour power reserve provides performance that meets modern needs. The movement's operation can be admired through the sapphire crystal case back. Furthermore, the rotor features a special design engraved with the Aston Martin logo, with variations in finish depending on the model, including rhodium plating and 18K red gold.
