Louis Vuitton has unveiled the "Escale en Alaska," a new addition to its "Escale Au Tour du Monde" pocket watch collection. This unique piece, themed around the Margery Glacier in Alaska, the northernmost point of North America, fuses the Jacquemart mechanism, a tourbillon, and exceptional métiers d'art craftsmanship. La Fabrique du Temps is Louis Vuitton's most complex pocket watch to date, featuring nine animations and 17 moving parts, bringing together the expertise of each ateliers—case, movement, and dial.

The dial features a night sky filled with the aurora borealis, the Margery Glacier, whales, orcas, penguins, and a monogrammed trunk, allowing you to enjoy a variety of animations, such as the opening and closing of the trunk and the movements of wild animals. Multiple techniques, including grand feu enamel, champlevé, cloisonné, and miniature enamel, were used for these, with over 160 hours of engraving and over 300 hours of enamel work by skilled craftsmen. Because a total of 32 different colors are used, the dial undergoes 35 firing processes.
At the center of the dial is the collection's first ever LV Monogram Star-Cut Diamond, which, along with the bezel set with colored sapphires, diamonds, and tourmalines, enhances the exquisite dial.
The case is made of 18K white gold with a diameter of 50.00mm. The sides are engraved with motifs that reflect the story behind the dial.
This timepiece is equipped with the hand-wound Cal.LFT AU14.03 movement. It combines a minute repeater, tourbillon, and an automaton mechanism with nine animations, and the assembly and hand-finishing alone took approximately 500 hours.
