A limited edition model featuring a soft rose color scheme has been released.

Rado has unveiled the "True Round Open Heart Limited Edition," a watch featuring a single tone of pale rose color. The term "open heart" refers to a design where the movement, the heart of the watch, is visible through an opening. This particular model features an openwork design with the number "8," symbolizing eternity and good fortune. Furthermore, one of the watch's charms is the ability to enjoy watching the energy stored in the mainspring power the gear train and the balance wheel beat in a steady rhythm through the dial. This model will be sold in a limited edition of 888 pieces worldwide, in reference to the "8" in the openwork design.

A dial that changes color when exposed to ultraviolet light.

The dial of this watch features a photochromic (light-reflecting) effect. This means that while it appears as a pale rose color, matching the case, indoors, it vividly transforms into a deeper magenta in bright outdoor sunlight. This magenta change creates a striking contrast with the gold hands and indices, as well as the silver movement, resulting in a captivating new look.

The photochromic effect has transformed the color from a pale rose to a more vibrant magenta. This creates a contrast with the case color, significantly altering the overall impression of the product.

Rado specializes in high-tech ceramics.

Rado was a pioneer in incorporating ceramic materials into its watches, starting in 1986. The high-tech ceramics used by Rado are attractive because they are lightweight, have a unique luster, and feel smooth against the skin, while also possessing excellent scratch resistance and durability. Furthermore, they quickly adapt to the wearer's body temperature, resulting in a natural and comfortable fit that feels like an extension of the body.

Manufacturing watch cases from high-tech ceramics requires advanced technology and rigorous process control. As a preparatory step, high-purity zirconium oxide powder with uniform particle size is mixed with a proprietary plastic carrier material and injection-molded into a precision mold at a pressure of approximately 1000 atmospheres. From there, the carrier material is dissolved and removed through heating and cooling of the mold, and then reheated to 1450°C. Through the accumulation of know-how regarding these materials and processes, Rado's high-tech ceramics possess a density that surpasses ordinary ceramics and a hardness of Vickers 1250.

The case back is made of titanium, which is lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and hypoallergenic, ensuring that the appeal of the high-tech ceramic is not diminished. Furthermore, it is engraved with "LIMITED EDITION, ONE OUT OF 888," indicating that it is a special model limited to 888 pieces worldwide.
