Blancpain has unveiled a limited-edition timepiece to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the "Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe" collection. Inspired by the 1968 model of the same collection, this special edition recreates its balanced proportions, superior functionality, and understated elegance. Only 300 pieces will be sold worldwide.

A faithful reproduction of the "bathyscaphe" from the golden age of recreational diving.
The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe, released in 1956, was a diver's watch designed for a wider audience, in contrast to the more professional-oriented Fifty Fathoms. Its proportions, in particular, were slim and understated, making it easy for everyday wear. Since then, it has been continuously refined as a timepiece that combines reliability as an instrument with elegance.

Automatic movement (Cal. 1150). 28 jewels. 21,600 vibrations/hour. Power reserve approximately 100 hours. Stainless steel case (diameter 37.40mm, thickness 12.30mm). 30 ATM water resistance. Limited edition of 300 pieces worldwide. 2,299,000 yen (including tax).
This model, commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe, is a revival model that reinterprets the design codes of the 1968 model from its entire collection in a modern way.
The case, with the same 37.40mm diameter as the original model, boasts modern specifications including 30 ATM water resistance. Furthermore, a redesign centered on the movement has resulted in a slimmer silhouette and improved comfort on the wrist. The sunburst-finished Meteor Grey dial also faithfully reproduces the color scheme of the time, with a brand logo reminiscent of the mid-20th century and baton-shaped hands and indices coated with vintage-colored Super-LumiNova.

Despite its strongly vintage appearance, its specifications are true to modern standards. It is equipped with the in-house Cal. 1150 movement, which boasts a power reserve of approximately 100 hours, and the use of a silicon balance spring ensures high magnetic resistance and long-term stability.
This limited edition model, with only 300 pieces available worldwide, features a serial number and the word "70th" engraved on the case back, as well as a special Peli M case.
