A new model has been added to the Vacheron Constantin Overseas series, designed for travelers. Announced as a pre-SIHH 2018 model on November 17, 2017, it will be released from February 2018 onwards.
The Overseas Dual Time is equipped with the newly developed Cal. 5110 DT movement. As its name suggests, this watch features a dual time function, allowing two time zones to be read simultaneously using coaxial hands. The hour hand displays the local time of the wearer's current location, while the other hour hand, tipped with a triangular arrow, indicates the reference time, commonly known as "home time." Both 12-hour displays are adjusted by turning the crown up or down. The home time display is linked to the day/night indicator at 9 o'clock, while the pointer date display is linked to the local time and can also be adjusted independently using the pusher at 4 o'clock. This model, which allows for quick adjustment of the local time using only the crown, offers unprecedented practicality.
The twin barrels provide a power reserve of approximately 60 hours, and the watch is water-resistant to 15 bar, just like the existing model. It also comes with two straps, one made of alligator leather and one made of rubber, to match the dial color. This new Overseas model further emphasizes its appeal as a "travel watch" that can be worn in any situation. It's a must-have for any jet-setter.
