For Chronoswiss, the Regulator is not only the brand's first original model, but also a central presence that could be said to represent the brand. 2018 marks the 35th anniversary of Chronoswiss' founding and the 30th anniversary of the launch of the world's first mass-produced Regulator watch. In this memorable year, Chronoswiss will release a new model, the "Flying Grand Regulator Limited Edition," finished with a 3D-style dial and skeletonized decoration.
The Flying Grand Regulator features a complex dial design with a multi-layered structure. The dial base is decorated with a guilloché pattern handcrafted by Chronoswiss artisans. Above that is a second layer with an outer circle displaying the minutes, and then a third layer with two circles displaying the hours and seconds. The multi-layered structure gives the watch an almost floating appearance, which is why it is called "flying."
The 44mm black case is coated with diamond-like carbon (DLC) with a Vickers hardness of 5000, close to that of a diamond, making it highly scratch-resistant and resistant to chemical influences. (The Flash Yellow case is black-gray.)
The limited edition models are "Red Passion," which features a red dial base, hour, minute, and second hands, indexes, and brand logo, and "Flash Yellow," which features a galvanic black dial with lemon yellow hour, minute, and second hands, brand logo, and red indexes.
Both types are fitted with impressive hornback Louisiana alligator straps. The limited editions are just 15 for the "Flash Yellow" and 30 for the "Red Passion."
