Garmin launches GPS watch with music, payment and map functions worldwide

Garmin, the GPS watch manufacturer, will simultaneously release three models of the latest fēnix 5 series, the fēnix 5 Plus Series, which incorporates a wealth of technology, worldwide on Thursday, June 28th. The fēnix 5 Plus Series GPS satellites include Japan's Michibiki, the US GPS, and Russia's GLONASS, and now, for the first time in a Garmin wearable, it can also receive Europe's Galileo. The models being released are the fēnix 5S Plus, fēnix 5 Plus, and fēnix 5X Plus.

　The fēnix 5 Plus Series is a premium GPS watch that adds music, payment, and map functions to Garmin's proud multi-sport functions, such as an optical heart rate monitor, 3D electronic compass, barometric pressure/altitude, and thermometer.

The "music function" allows you to listen to music downloaded to the watch without having to carry a smartphone. The "payment function" is equipped with the contactless payment function Garmin Pay™, which allows you to make payments for shopping and other purposes by holding the watch over a compatible device. The "map function" is pre-loaded with topographical and road maps for all of Japan, eliminating the need for time-consuming downloads. The map data also includes altitude data, allowing you to check altitude changes in real time. The watch also continues to feature Garmin's specialty multi-sport compatibility, optical heart rate monitor, smartphone connectivity, and life logging functions.

This series also focuses on materials, adding a titanium model. Compared to the previous model, it is up to 16% lighter, making it more comfortable to wear during sports. All models are compatible with easily interchangeable QuickFit bands, and a titanium bracelet is also available, allowing you to customize your bracelet to suit your style.
