Bell & Ross "BR Racing Bird" launch event

Fabien de Nonancourt, General Manager of Bell & Ross, explained the new products on the day of the event and then answered questions from the media.

　The launch event for Bell & Ross's new 2018 model, the BR Racing Bird, was held on Wednesday, July 11th at the maruni tokyo showroom in Higashi-Nihonbashi, Tokyo, of furniture manufacturer Maruni Wood Industry (Hiroshima).

The "BR Racing Bird" was inspired by the "BR-BIRD," an air racing plane designed by the company's creative director, Bruno Bellamich. The BR-BIRD is a fictional plane that does not exist in reality, but it was designed with the intention of competing in the Reno Air Races, held annually in Nevada, USA. By combining a Rolls-Royce V12 "Falcon" engine with a 2080 kg airframe, it has been given specific specifications, such as a top speed of 909 km/h. The development of such a "concept machine"-first model is an approach unique to Bell & Ross.

　The two models introduced on the day were the three-hand "BR V1-92 Racing Bird" and the chronograph-equipped "BR V2-94 Racing Bird." Both models feature an eye-catching color scheme of white, blue, and orange. Naturally, this reflects the BR-BIRD color code. Additionally, the counterweights for the center second hand and chronograph second hand feature the silhouette of an airplane, showcasing the company's playful spirit.

　In addition to the two BR Racing Birds mentioned above, many other current models were on display at the event. Furthermore, General Manager Fabien de Nonancourt from Bell & Ross headquarters made an appearance to give a speech.

The BR V1-92 Racing Bird was unveiled for the first time in Japan. Automatic (BR-CAL.302). 25 jewels. 28,800 vph. Power reserve of approximately 40 hours. Stainless steel (diameter 38.5mm). Water resistant to 100m. Limited to 999 pieces worldwide. 300,000 yen (excluding tax).

The BR V2-94 Racing Bird, equipped with a chronograph, comes in two models: a strap model and a bracelet model. The chronograph pushers are screw-down. The 999-piece worldwide limited edition refers to both models combined, not the number of each sold. Automatic (BR-CAL.301). 37 jewels. 28,800 vph. Power reserve of approximately 40 hours. Stainless steel (41mm diameter). Water resistant to 100m. Limited to 999 pieces worldwide. The strap model costs 540,000 yen (excluding tax), and the bracelet model costs 580,000 yen (excluding tax).
