Fortis "Blackout 2" is back with a new case for the first time in 12 years

2018.12.19
The second edition of the "Blackout," released in 2006 as Fortis' first Japan-exclusive model, will be released in a limited run of 50 pieces, with a new case design. The "Blackout 2" uses Fortis' latest Flieger case and is equipped with a date display, which was not available on the first model, and even the date disc is painted black, making it a truly fashionable all-black model.

The watch features a black PVD case, a matte black dial, and black applied indices. To ensure visibility in the dark, the hour, minute, and second hands, as well as the 12 o'clock marker, are finished with Super-LumiNova. The deliberate use of white Super-LumiNova ensures instant visibility, a practical consideration only possible from Fortis, which has developed watches for air forces and astronauts around the world. The model name "Blackout" refers to the temporary loss of communication with the ground when a spacecraft returns from space and re-enters the atmosphere, making it a name unique to Fortis, a brand with a deep connection to space.
