Chopard's Karl-Friedrich Scheufele and Andrea Zagato first met at the legendary Mille Miglia Rally, where Maison Chopard has been official partner and timekeeper since 1988. Since then, the relationship between the two companies has deepened and the bond between them has gradually strengthened, making it only natural that Chopard would participate in Zagato's celebrations of its 100th anniversary. At this year's Mille Miglia (held from May 15th to 18th), Chopard will sponsor Zagato's racing team, Scuderia Sport Zagato.
The Concorso d'Eleganza Kyoto 2019 brought together top vintage cars and world-renowned gentlemen drivers, showcasing a magnificent collection of 33 vintage cars bearing Zagato's signature. Tenryuji Temple, a 14th-century Zen Buddhist temple representing Kyoto and a registered World Heritage Site, was chosen as the venue for the gala dinner. During the event, Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, co-president of Maison Chopard, unveiled the new Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph Zagato 100th Anniversary Edition, a watch from the Mille Miglia collection created in collaboration with Andrea Zagato.
