Berluti developed "patine," a delicate and meticulous leather dyeing technique that uses essential oils and pigments to create gradations, variations, and different colors within each pair of shoes, giving each shoe a unique character. Another distinctive feature, Scritto (caligulafy), originates from an 18th-century French letter acquired by Olga Berluti at auction. A series featuring handwritten calligraphy has also become a signature icon of the brand. Hublot has not only succeeded in sealing natural leather decorated with these two techniques established by Berluti within a sealed case, but this year has also succeeded in expressing patine and Scritto on a watch case. The case and bezel are engraved with Scritto and finished with a black brushed finish that is unmistakable as Padine. The watch comes in a special box with a Berluti shoe care set.
