Citizen launched its Fine Tuning Service (FTS) on July 4, 2019, which allows for customization of up to 40,000 different options, down to the fine details of the strap, case, hour and minute hands, based on the best-selling AT8040 series of CITIZEN ATTESA watches, which are highly functional and support globally active businessmen.

The Attesa "AT8040" series, which serves as the base for customization, offers practical features such as solar-powered Eco-Drive and radio wave reception for Japan, China, the US, and Europe, while also pursuing a good balance of design and comfort. Since its release in November 2012, it has become one of Citizen's most popular series, with a cumulative total of over 100,000 units sold, despite its list price of 100,000 to 130,000 yen. FTS allows for the customization of not only the strap but also small parts such as the dial and hands to meet a variety of requests, while maintaining the functionality that is useful in business situations.

FTS aims to provide a service that can accommodate these detailed requests. With 10 luxurious dial color variations, 8 case/bezel colors, 2 bezel ring colors, 5 hour/minute hand colors, 10 second hand colors, and 5 band types (2 metal band colors, 3 leather band colors), there are a total of 4 possible combinations, allowing customers to freely customize their watch to their liking from a wide range of options. Customers can also choose from Citizen's proprietary surface hardening treatment (Duratect) for the metal band, case, and bezel.

Ordered watches are assembled at Citizen's domestic factory by skilled technicians using carefully crafted parts. With one technician in charge of the entire assembly process for one watch, it is possible to deliver the watch in approximately two weeks from the time of order. *The photo shows a custom example.
