An employee of Citizen Watch Manufacturing, a subsidiary of Citizen, has received the 2019 Governor's Award for Outstanding Skilled Workers, the "Shinshu Master Craftsman" award, which is given to highly skilled individuals in Nagano Prefecture.

Reasons for receiving the award
The award recipient, Kenji Nunoyama, has outstanding assembly skills and leadership abilities in the areas of watch assembly in general and the manufacturing of precision watch components. In particular, he has the skills to adjust mechanical watches to within ±5 seconds per day, a precision time adjustment that is normally around ±30 seconds per day. He also has the diagnostic ability to find defects in watches, and the skills and knowledge to repair and restore those defects. In addition to training and providing technical guidance to younger technicians within the company, he also contributes to the local community by providing training to mechanical watch assembly and precision time adjustment technicians outside the company, thereby making an effort to pass on his skills.

Since joining the company, he has been engaged in watch movement assembly work, and has a track record of winning the Excellence Award at the National Watch Skills Competition (First Division), and has outstanding skills, ranking first among the special grade "Shinshu Artisan Watch Repairers" certified by Nagano Prefecture. In addition, he has worked as a lecturer and test examiner for mechanical watch skills acquisition within the company.
He is originally from Nagano Prefecture and is 35 years old.
