A step towards overcoming muscular dystrophy for humanity
The "Only Watch" auction, taking place in Geneva today, November 9th, is a charity event organized by the Monegasque Association for Muscular Dystrophy.
The event is run by watchmakers who support the idea of eradicating muscular dystrophy, an incurable disease that afflicts many people, and as the name suggests, they will exhibit ``Only Watches,'' unique pieces that exist only once in the world, with all proceeds donated to the Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy International Medical Research Project Association as research funds.
Based on Bell & Ross' first "luxury sports" watch, the BR05
We have previously introduced several models up for auction on webChronos, but before the auction begins, we would like to introduce one more model: the BR05 Skeleton Gold Blue, a special Only Watch model of the BR05 collection, which Bell & Ross just launched in September.
The BR05 is Bell & Ross's first ambitious venture into the "luxury sports" genre. Until then, the company had offered many models with a strong military feel, such as the BR series inspired by aircraft instruments and traditional aviation watches, but this latest model takes a completely different approach, with a more "urban" feel.
The "BR05 Skeleton Gold Blue" being offered this time is based on the "BR05 Skeleton," which made an impact even within the BR05 series, and combines it with an 18KRG case that was not available on the original model. The case and bezel, which skillfully combine two finishes, satin and polished, give it a three-dimensional, luxurious feel, and are a perfect example of "luxury sports."
Distinctive blue color
What catches the eye in this Only Watch special model is the refreshing blue used throughout. The sapphire crystal inserted between the base plate and the indexes is coated in blue to accentuate the blue skeletonized movement. Furthermore, the rotor of the automatic movement, Cal. 322, is also coated in blue PVD.
Another original feature of this watch is that the brand logo, which is shaped like an "&" and placed in the center of the rotor, is yellow to match the case color.
Only Watch will then begin auctioning at 10 PM Japan time, with 50 unique pieces up for auction. The BR05 Skeleton Gold Blue is expected to fetch between $20,000 and $25,000.
