Tudor has announced an extension of the warranty period for products purchased from authorized retailers in Japan and overseas. The extended warranty period varies depending on the purchase date: products purchased between July 1, 2018 and December 31, 2019 will have a warranty period of 3 years and 6 months, while products purchased after January 1, 2020 will have a warranty period of 5 years. However, products purchased before July 1, 2018 are not eligible for the warranty extension and will remain under the previous 2-year warranty period.
Tudor extends warranty period

Tudor's new challenge embodies the brand philosophy "Born to Dare"
In recent years, many well-known brands have announced extended warranty periods. In 2015, Rolex, Tudor's sister brand, announced that it would extend its warranty period from two years to five years. More recently, IWC announced that it would extend its warranty period from two years to eight years.
What many of the brands that have implemented such measures have in common is the development of new in-house movements. The quality of newly developed movements is unknown to consumers. Fans may be concerned, especially with movements that use new materials or mechanisms. Extending the warranty period not only extends the relationship between the brand and the owner, but also alleviates such concerns.
Tudor also developed its first in-house movement in 16, significantly improving the specifications of the general-purpose movements it had used up until then. By extending the warranty period, Tudor appears to be demonstrating its confidence in the quality of its in-house movements.
