Hublot Big Bang Unico Sapphire Camouflage
Hublot will release the Japan-exclusive Big Bang Unico Sapphire Camouflage model. Since 2004, the company has been creating its own unique worldview by combining various different materials, including ceramics and carbon, under the concept of "fusion."
This latest model is once again full of the company's signature charm. The eye-catching clear case is made of sapphire crystal. Sapphire crystal is often used as a watch crystal material, but due to its hardness, it is difficult to process, and even finishing it into a dome shape requires a certain amount of cost and skill.
The company has crafted this material into a complex case shape, resulting in an innovative design that further emphasizes the layered structure that is characteristic of the Big Bang Unico. The dial is also made of sapphire crystal, allowing the in-house chronograph movement, Unico, to be viewed from the dial side.
When talking about this model, it's essential to mention the camouflage pattern on the dial and strap. Considering the origins of the camouflage pattern, one would expect it to match a case color such as matte silver or black, but in this model, it somehow achieves a stunning "fusion" with the sapphire crystal case. This is likely due to the fact that the push buttons, crown, and screws that secure the bezel are all made of titanium. Titanium, which evokes a high-tech image with its dull shine, high hardness, excellent corrosion resistance, and lightness, is used throughout the watch, creating a sense of harmony throughout the entire piece.
