On March 6, 2020, Bvlgari Japan announced the holding of the 5th annual BVLGARI AVRORA AWARDS 2020 ahead of International Women's Day.

The awards were announced for Nanao (actress and model), one of the nominators for the 2020 Aurora Award, and Akiko Higashimura (manga artist). In addition to Nanao, Yoko Hayashi (lawyer and member of the G7 Gender Equality Committee), who nominated the 2018 Aurora Award, and Naomi Kawase (film director), who won the award in 2017, also appeared at the press conference to discuss inspiring women who have a positive influence.
Nanao talks about her thoughts on the Aurora Awards
"I think the entertainment industry is a relatively easy environment for women to work in, but I still think there are not many opportunities for them to thrive. However, I have recently been able to visibly see that the number of women on set is gradually increasing, and I have come to realize that women are indeed strong and have tenacity. I would like to see more opportunities like this for women to thrive. The Bvlgari Aurora Award, in which I am participating as a nominator, is a wonderful award that not only inspires the winners, but also the women who see the winners, with good things continuing to flow in a chain reaction. This time I am only a nominator, but as society is becoming more genderless, regardless of gender, I sincerely hope that we can create a world where anyone can thrive."
