Every Portugieser Chronograph is equipped with an in-house caliber

IWC has redesigned the Portugieser Chronograph. The iconic design remains the same, featuring a clean, sleek dial, two sub-dial counters, and an inner ring with quarter-second graduations. The dial side, however, is virtually invisible. However, IWC's most popular chronograph now features the high-quality in-house caliber 69355, visible through the transparent case back.

The in-house caliber 69355, which was featured in the IWC Jubilee Collection, released in 2018 as a limited edition of 2000 pieces to commemorate the 150th anniversary of IWC's founding in 1868, will be installed in all Portugieser Chronographs starting this year. The case back has been changed from a solid to a transparent one, and the stainless steel model has been changed from a pin buckle to a butterfly folding clasp.

The Portugieser Chronograph features a clean, neat and functional dial with two sub-dial counters at 6 o'clock and 12 o'clock, applied Arabic numerals and slim leaf hands, all surrounded by a slender bezel. The inner ring with a printed scale in 1/4 second increments not only enables accurate display of measured time, but also adds a subtle sporty charm to the timeless Portugieser design. This simple design is perhaps the greatest appeal of the Portugieser, which is loved by everyone.
