Twenty years after Michel Parmigiani opened his restoration workshop in 1976, the watchmaking house bearing his name was born, with the restoration workshop at its heart. Parmigiani Fleurier's achievements are based on what the past has taught us, and are based on providing new solutions to the technical challenges of the time.

Records show that aventurine was used in the "birdcage"

One example of Parmigiani's unique techniques is the restoration of a birdcage automaton clock, created in the early 19th century, decorated with a fountain and flutes. The birdcage, which is based on the clock, is suspended from the ceiling, with the dial at the base viewed from below. Records show that aventurine glass was once used for decoration, but the glass was removed and replaced with blue metallic paint. Since this restoration, Parmigiani Fleurier has decided to use aventurine, a material that is prone to breakage, only for watch dials. Their latest wristwatches use sapphire crystal as the crystal, protecting the aventurine dial.
