Louis Vuitton releases limited edition Tambour Spin Time Air models featuring traditional Japanese patterns and the four seasons

Louis Vuitton's Tambour Spin Time features 12 cubes that rotate sequentially to indicate the time. Developed and patented in 2009, the Spin Time movement was refined by La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton, a complex movement manufacturer in Geneva, in 2019, marking the 10th anniversary of its launch, evolving into the Caliber LV88. Equipped with this movement, the Tambour Spin Time Air acquires a design that appears to float in mid-air. In 2020, a new limited edition model was added to the series, vibrantly decorated with traditional Japanese patterns and the four seasons.

A white gold model inspired by the Seigaiha wave pattern

　The center of the dial of the white gold model features a pattern called "Seigaiha." Seigaiha is a design that was introduced to Japan via the Silk Road and was developed by people in the Asuka period as a uniquely Japanese pattern. The pattern of small waves spreading endlessly out into the great ocean is considered an auspicious design that embodies "wishes for happiness that will continue forever" and people's "wishes for a peaceful life."
　Each rotating cube is labeled with the letters of the brand name, and the hours are indicated by yellow letters.

　The colorful pink gold model depicts the four seasons of Japan. The dial and cube are intricately painted, combining Louis Vuitton's iconic Monogram Flower with motifs such as cherry blossoms, fireflies, autumn leaves, and snowflakes. The cube, which serves as the hour hand, is arranged to represent the changing seasons, and rotates to reveal a colored stone of the same color as the hour. This pink gold model is adorned with 142 diamonds, 108 colored sapphires, and 36 tsavorites, including the case and lugs.

　Both models are engraved with "JAPAN LIMITED EDITION" on the case back, a rare fusion of Louis Vuitton's craftsmanship and Japanese beauty.
