Royal Asscher, a diamond jewellery founded in Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1854, has released two new ring styles using the Royal Asscher cut to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the birth of the brand's original cut, the Royal Asscher Cut.
What is the "Royal Asscher Cut"?
The Royal Asscher cut, which was created in 2000 by improving the 58-facet Asscher cut, which was first created in 1902, to 74 facets, is an original cut characterized by its sharp square form and profound brilliance. The strong brilliance and exquisite beauty of light derived from the 74 facets in total, the same as those of the Cullinan I and Cullinan II, and the sharp form, are an original cut that only Royal Asscher can produce.
The Usher family are diamond cutters
The Asscher cut was created by Joseph Asscher III, the genius who cut the Cullinan, a British royal treasure. Its innovative octagonal shape took the world by storm and is still known as an exemplary cut that other companies emulate. A century later, in 2000, Edward Asscher V, the fifth generation, improved the Asscher cut to create the Royal Asscher cut. With 74 facets, the same as the Cullinan, the cut not only has an elegant, transparent brilliance, but is also designed to increase the total amount of light reflected back.
Edward Asher, the fifth generation owner, handed over the company to the sixth generation and became chairman of the World Diamond Council, a position that demands great responsibility for the social responsibility and international credibility of jewelers.

Details: During the campaign period, customers who purchase an eligible Royal Asscher cut will receive a free laser engraving on the girdle of their loose diamond. They will also receive a signed letter with a message from Edward Asscher, the developer of the Royal Asscher cut and honorary chairman of the brand.
