TAG Heuer kicked off its 160th anniversary with the launch of the "TAG Heuer Carrera 160th Anniversary Silver Dial Limited Edition" earlier this year. Now, to celebrate this historic milestone, the brand is announcing a second collector's edition, the "TAG Heuer Carrera 160th Anniversary Montreal Limited Edition." The "Montreal" is the name given to a collection of Heuer automatic chronographs, distinguished by their brilliance and elegance, first released in 1972. Now, the Montreal has been spectacularly reissued in the elegant 39mm TAG Heuer Carrera design, limited to 1000 pieces.
Vintage design with modern technology
Automatic (Cal. Heuer 02). 33 jewels. 28,800 vph. Power reserve approximately 80 hours. Stainless steel (diameter 39mm). Water resistant to 100m. Comes with a special box. 730,000 yen (excluding tax). Released in late July. Available for pre-order on the official website.
A white Heuer Montreal from 1972
The new TAG Heuer Carrera 160th Anniversary Montreal Limited Edition is inspired by the white Heuer Montreal (product number 110503W) released in 1972. Featuring a luminous dial and the spacey case design iconic to the 1970s, the original Heuer Montreal is now a highly coveted collector's item. The anniversary model features the same red, yellow, and blue colors as the white Heuer Montreal.
TAG Heuer Carrera 160th Anniversary Montreal Limited Edition
The 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock is highlighted by three curved lines of yellow Super-LumiNova® extending from 1 to 5, 10 to 15, and 20 to 25. Yellow Super-LumiNova® also coats the central minute and hour hands. The central chronograph seconds hand is lacquered in a bold, distinctive red. The dial is protected by a domed "glass box" sapphire crystal. The caseback, engraved with the limited edition number, offers a glimpse into the Calibre Heuer 02 and its rotor.
