The Speedmaster became a legend from the moment it landed on the moon

Speedmaster Moonwatch 321 Stainless Steel

Fifty-one years ago this July, the Apollo 11 astronauts took the first steps on the moon. The Speedmasters they wore at the time were powered by the Caliber 321. Now a household name among watch enthusiasts, this movement has remained with astronauts on every subsequent moon landing.

The Calibre 321 is always visible through the sapphire crystal caseback. To bring this movement back to life, OMEGA undertook two years of extensive research and reconstruction, including using digital scanning technology called tomography to analyze the interior of the Speedmaster actually worn by astronaut Eugene "Gene" Cernan on Apollo 17 in 1972. Each movement is assembled in OMEGA's dedicated Calibre 321 workshop to faithfully recreate the original specifications.
