G-SHOCK STORE SHIBUYA, an antenna shop, opens at RAYARD MIYASHITA PARK

G-SHOCK's antenna shop, "G-SHOCK STORE SHIBUYA," opened on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at RAYARD MIYASHITA PARK, a popular new spot in Shibuya, Tokyo.

Antenna shops opening in popular new spots

　Shibuya, Tokyo, is currently undergoing large-scale redevelopment and is attracting attention from around the world as a hub of trends and pop culture. G-SHOCK's antenna shop, "G-SHOCK STORE SHIBUYA," will open in the commercial facility "RAYARD MIYASHITA PARK" within "MIYASHITA PARK," a new landmark in the area.

　The store's bright interior, based on a mortar color scheme, displays and sells a wide range of G-SHOCK products. The store also has a maintenance booth where dedicated service technicians will handle battery replacements and other services.

Graffiti artist hand-paints in Shibuya, a special place for G-SHOCK

The store will be located in Shibuya, the city that sparked the success of G-SHOCK in the 1990s. The store's walls will be decorated with original hand-painted artwork called "G-Explosion" by Eric Haze, a graphic artist closely associated with G-SHOCK through his anniversary logo design and collaboration models.

　Regarding the hand-painted art created for the store, Eric Haze commented, "Rather than simply using the logo, we expressed the bright and lively G-SHOCK spirit through abstract graphic art."

　Eric Haze, a pioneer of graffiti art, an essential part of hip-hop and street culture, also has a special attachment to G-SHOCK. When G-SHOCK celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2018, he spoke about his feelings on the brand's website.

　The G-SHOCK STORE SHIBUYA is currently open at 20900 on the second floor of MIYASHITA PARK South. Business hours are from 11:2 to 21:3, but in order to avoid the three Cs (closed spaces, crowded places, closed spaces, and close-contact settings) within MIYASHITA PARK, advance reservations and admission restrictions will be in place for the time being.
