Moritz Grossmann has announced the release of the Hamatic Vintage, a watch with a beautiful, lustrous finish, based on the Hamatic's first classic pendulum-type automatic winding mechanism. The new dial features the original logo design seen on a pocket watch produced by Moritz Grossmann in 1875.

Classic pendulum automatic winding mechanism
Another advantage of the hammer winding system is that it maximizes the diameter of the movement, allowing for a sufficient distance from the fulcrum to the tip of the hammer head to generate high torque. This means high winding efficiency. The hammer head only needs to move 5°, or 2 mm, to fully wind the mainspring. Continuous winding of the mainspring while the watch is being worn also ensures stable, high accuracy.
Hamatic's exquisite Caliber 106.0 has an attractive design, meticulously hand-finished, and its oval hammer body is open in the center to reveal the beautiful movement. The movement is made of hand-finished German silver parts and assembled with Grossmann's characteristic pillar structure. The distinctive Grossmann stepped balance cock with precision adjustment screws is also hand-engraved.

The new Hamatic, with a white gold case and a black dial featuring the vintage-style brand logo, is limited to just 25 pieces worldwide. The dial is specially finished; the German silver dial is first painted a dark gray color that's almost black. A "black-or" mirror finish ensures the special black dial retains its lustrous luster. Large, clear white Roman numerals create a striking contrast with the black dial, while the "M. GROSSMANN" logo and hand-finished hands, measuring just 0.1 mm, pay homage to an old Moritz Grossmann pocket watch from 1875.
