Van Cleef & Arpels launches three high jewelry pieces

Van Cleef & Arpels has announced three high jewelry pieces that pay homage to the maison's most notable jewels in history: the Merveilles d'Emeraude Necklace, the Ruby en Seine Bracelet, and the Teintres Etence Front Earrings.

High jewelry pieces that revive the Maison's masterpieces

　Founded in Paris in 1906, Van Cleef & Arpels has created numerous high-end jewelry pieces for royalty and celebrities from around the world. The three pieces announced this time were inspired by masterpieces owned by the Maison's clients. Each piece is lavishly adorned with emeralds, rubies, and diamonds, creating new masterpieces that are just as impressive as the originals.

"Merveilles d'Emeraude Necklace" and the Egyptian Princess

　The inspiration for the Merveilles d'Emeraude necklace, which features five emeralds adorning the chest, comes from the Collaret necklace owned by Princess Faiza, daughter of Egypt's first king. This striking necklace with drop-shaped emeralds was made in 1929 and later purchased for Princess Faiza by the Egyptian royal family. It is now part of the Van Cleef & Arpels collection.

　The Merveilles d'Emeraude necklace features a total of 70.4 carats of Colombian emeralds. The deep green color is complemented by round, baguette, and triangular diamonds. The clasp, designed to flow down the back, retains the original design, and three diamonds dangle from it. The pear-shaped diamonds and the five emeralds at the chest can be interchanged, and can also be attached to the earrings in the set, allowing for a variety of combinations to be enjoyed.

"Ruby en Seine Bracelet" and Marlene Dietrich

　One of the company's signature pieces of jewelry from the 1930s is the "Jaltier Bracelet," beloved by actress Marlene Dietrich. The voluminous design, featuring rubies arranged in concentric circles, adorned the famous actress's wrist and even appeared in Alfred Hitchcock's film "Stage Fright." The "Ruby en Seine Bracelet" was inspired by this piece, which sold for $99 after her death.

　The Ruby en Seine bracelet features 72 high-quality cushion-cut rubies set in a semicircle. The vibrant red color of the rubies, sourced from Myanmar (formerly Burma), is enhanced by the inclusion of round, baguette, and square diamonds. The delicate design of the white gold and diamonds creates a bold yet elegant piece.

"Tindress Etencelonto Earrings" and Jacqueline Kennedy

　The flower-motif "Tindresse Etence Front Earrings." This jewelry was created based on the earrings that Aristotle Onassis, known as "the greatest shipping magnate of the 20th century," gave to Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis when he remarried. Jacqueline's earrings, featuring a gold and diamond flower motif and a large cabochon-cut ruby, were often worn in public.

　The delicate flower motif, inherited from the original, has been given a lively look by deliberately curving the petals, expressing the Maison's passion for nature. The approximately 10 carat pear-shaped diamonds swaying at the ears were both cut from the same rough stone. As the name "Etense Ronte" suggests, these earrings are beautifully sparkling.
