The GPHG 2020 Calendar & Astronomical Watch Award goes to the Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar Extra-Thin Skeleton

At the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix 2020 (GPHG 2020), Vacheron Constantin's Overseas Perpetual Calendar Extra-Thin Skeleton won the Calendar & Astronomical Watch Award.

A perpetual calendar mechanism housed in an ultra-thin case

　The Overseas Perpetual Calendar Extra-Thin Skeleton, released as an all-gold model, is equipped with the ultra-thin in-house movement, Cal. 1120 QPSQ/1, measuring just 4.05mm thick. This watch could only be completed by a skilled watchmaker with extensive experience in the complex mechanism of the perpetual calendar, and a craftsman with the advanced skills to openwork a mechanical movement.

The dial allows you to enjoy the intricate openwork, a true work of art crafted by artisans.

The complex mechanism is housed in a case just 8.1mm thick. You'll also enjoy the feel of the bracelet as it smoothly fits your wrist.

An excellent movement that will not require manual adjustment until 2100

　The perpetual calendar function requires no adjustment of the date, day, month and moon phase displays until March 1, 2100. It is an astonishing feat that a watch with this functionality can be so ultra-thin. The dial offers a detailed view of the movement's interior thanks to its intricate openworking. The case back reveals the gear train and the bow-shaped 22K gold rotor with NAC treatment. This openworked rotor, designed to resemble a Maltese cross, is a first for the Overseas collection.
