Following the huge success of Czapek's first luxury Antarctique collection, Terre Adélie, Orion Nebula, and Abis, which were released in May and all sold out, Czapek has now unveiled a new addition to its Antarctica collection: Antarctique Passage de Drake.
Drake Passage
Capek "Antarctic Passage de Drake"
Automatic winding (Cal. SXH5). 28 jewels. 28,800 vph. The micro rotor is made of recycled platinum 950. Stainless steel (diameter 40.5 mm, thickness 10.6 mm). Power reserve approximately 56 hours. Water resistant to 120 m. 2.5 million yen (estimated price excluding tax). Comes with an easily interchangeable calfskin or rubber strap.
The Antarctic Passage de Draque collection is presented on a 40.5mm stainless steel bracelet with an ergonomic brushed finish. The bracelet's brushed links are connected by highly polished links in the shape of a Czapek "C." The bracelet features a quick-change system, allowing watch owners to quickly and easily swap it for a rubber strap decorated with the same trapezoid pattern as the dial. This new collection is limited to a production of just one piece per day, and customers who order online can select and reserve the date on which their watch will be produced. Additionally, several options are available, from the color of the central seconds hand to the engraving on the case back.
Four different dials
The Passage de Draque is available in four different dials: ice white, deep blue, black ink, and gray. The limited edition "Roaring Forties" is available in 40 pieces. This limited edition will be available for pre-order online for 40 days. The Roaring Forties is the colloquial name for the area of the ocean between 40 and 50 degrees south latitude. The collection will be sold at Czapek's official retailer, the boutique at 18 Rue des Colatouries in Geneva. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in March 2021.
All models feature a special trapezoid pattern dial

The Franke dial is engraved with a special trapezoid pattern called "Stairway to Eternity."

New caliber "SXH5.01"

The new caliber (Cal. SXH5) replaced the original 18K gold micro-rotor with a slightly larger platinum rotor. The next upgrade involved a complete redesign of the micro-rotor's ball bearings. These upgrades increased the gear train's transmission efficiency to 90%, achieving a power reserve of approximately 60 hours. The baseplate was also changed to German silver, and the surface of one of the small bridges was black polished and meticulously inclined with six inward angles. As a result, the price of this part apparently increased tenfold.
