A true piece of art: Hublot's Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami All Black

A timepiece that transcends the boundaries between timepieces and artworks has been unveiled. For its first collaboration with a Japanese artist, Hublot approached Takashi Murakami. The resulting Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami All Black is based on the theme of flowers, a symbol of Murakami's art. It is three-dimensional, functional, and dynamic, and is limited to 200 pieces worldwide, sure to sell out. Murakami, who delicately intertwines Japanese tradition and pop culture, is an undisputed rock star in the world of contemporary art, and is known for naming the artistic movement he founded "Superflat."

Hublot loves Art!

　In February 2020, Takashi Murakami visited the Hublot Manufacture for the first time. This visit provided him with an opportunity to learn more about the work of watchmakers and timepiece design. This experience sparked a creative process that resulted in the creation of the Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami All Black. This highly innovative timepiece is inspired by Murakami's iconic flower motif, adorning its interior and exterior. The petals rotate thanks to an intricate ball-bearing system developed by Hublot engineers. The center of the flower is raised into the sapphire crystal, creating a unique 3D effect along with an eye-catching smile.

　Hublot's watchmakers have equipped the Classic Fusion collection's iconic case with the in-house developed and manufactured caliber "UNICO." The movement has a power reserve of approximately 72 hours.
