Seiko [2021 New Model] "Astron Global Line Sports 5X Titanium Kojima Production Collaboration Limited Edition Model"

Seiko Astron has collaborated with Kojima Productions to release two models: the "Astron Global Line Sports 5X Titanium Kojima Productions Collaboration Limited Edition." The "SBXC095," limited to 120 pieces in Japan, will be released on May 14th, while the "SBXC097," limited to 1000 pieces worldwide, will be released on June 10th.

A limited edition model based on "Ludens," which symbolizes the philosophy of Kojima Productions

　This time, Seiko Astron has collaborated with Kojima Productions, a creative studio led by game creator Hideo Kojima. Founded in 2015, Kojima Productions aims to create new forms of entertainment under the slogan "FROM SAPIENS TO LUDENS (from 'humanity' to 'players')." Their first title, "DEATH STRANDING," released in 2019, was nominated in eight categories at the international games awards "The Game Awards 2019," the most of any entry, and was also nominated in ten categories at the British Academy Games Awards, earning high praise both in Japan and overseas.

The "Astron Global Line Sports 5X Titanium Kojima Productions Collaboration Limited Model" will be available in two models: "SBXC095," which will be available only in Japan, and "SBXC097," which will be limited to 1000 units worldwide. Both models feature designs based on "Ludens," a character that symbolizes the philosophy of Kojima Productions.

　The dial features a pattern reminiscent of the carbon face mask worn by Ludens, and the indicator at 9 o'clock features Ludens' skull design, which is also the logo of Kojima Productions. The hour and minute hands are shaped like the flag spear held by Ludens, and the gold-colored case back is inscribed with the Kojima Productions logo, the words "Limited Edition," and a serial number.

　The SBXC095, a Japan-only model, features the slogan "FROM SAPIENS TO LUDENS" engraved on the top of the black ceramic bezel and city codes on the side in the same font as the Kojima Productions logo. In addition to the two-tone bracelet, it also comes with a nylon strap inspired by the belt worn by Ludens.

　The SBXC097, a limited edition model worldwide, features a bezel and case made of titanium with a Super Black Diamond Shield finish, with the city code engraved on the top of the bezel and the slogan engraved on the side at 6 o'clock. Like the domestic limited edition model, both are in the same font as the Kojima Productions logo. The matte black case and gray bracelet create a bold impression.

　Each model comes in its own special box, and includes an illustration card featuring the 5th anniversary visual of Ludens wearing the Astron, as well as a message card signed by Hideo Kojima. The SBXC095, a Seiko Boutique exclusive model, is limited to 120 pieces and will be released in Japan on May 14th, while the SBXC097, a Seiko Global Brand Core Shop exclusive model, is limited to 1000 pieces and will be released worldwide on June 10th.
