Chopard [2021 New Release] "Imperiale Moon Phase" depicts the starry sky and the moon

Chopard's Imperiale women's collection is joined by the new Imperiale Moon Phase, a watch crafted from aventurine to represent the beautiful starry sky. The dial features five major constellations of the Northern Hemisphere, and a highly accurate moon phase display.

A starry sky created by miraculous materials

The Imperiale is part of Chopard's ladies' watch collection, and is a noble, feminine jewelry watch that incorporates gemstones and Roman numerals into its design. The Imperiale Moon Phase, which is equipped with a moon phase, has previously been available in two models with blue mother-of-pearl and pink mother-of-pearl dials, but this year a new model with aventurine has been added.

　The dial is made of two pieces of blue aventurine glass. Known in Japan as "sand gold stone," this material is said to have been created by chance.

　A glass craftsman in Murano, Italy, accidentally dropped copper shavings into molten glass, which, when cooled and solidified, shone with a beautiful, unique glow, like a starry sky.

　Due to its mysterious sparkle, aventurine is often used in watches with moon phase mechanisms, and this model features an aventurine dial featuring five of the major constellations of the Northern Hemisphere, representing a night sky lit by stars and the moon.

Moon phase that requires no adjustment for 122 years

　As a manufacturer, Chopard has applied the know-how of its craftsmen to its in-house calibers. The caliber Chopard 96.25-C used in this watch is particularly notable for its highly accurate moon phase. This movement is so accurate that it takes 122 years for it to become out of sync by one day with the actual phases of the moon, demonstrating the company's high level of technical expertise.

　The automatic movement, equipped with a micro-rotor, has a power reserve of approximately 65 hours and is certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). This is a watch that combines high precision with artistic style.
