Audemars Piguet [New for 2021] "Royal Oak Offshore Flying Tourbillon Flyback Chronograph" with two complicated mechanisms

Audemars Piguet has added a new complication to the Royal Oak Offshore collection. The Royal Oak Offshore Flying Tourbillon Flyback Chronograph, as its name suggests, features two complications and comes in a newly designed 43mm titanium case. It will be released in June 2021 and will be limited to 100 pieces.

Two mechanisms installed together for the first time

　The newly announced "Royal Oak Offshore Flying Tourbillon Flyback Chronograph," as its name suggests, is equipped with the complex flying tourbillon and flyback mechanism. The caliber 2967 used in this model shares the same basic design as the in-house caliber 2952, which was first used in the "CODE 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Flying Tourbillon Chronograph" released in 2020. The base caliber 2952 had a delicate design characteristic of the CODE 11.59, but to be more appropriate for the Offshore collection, it has been given a more powerful and sporty design.

　The titanium bridges, with their distinctive lines, are coated with black PVD and are divided into satin-brushed and hand-polished finishes. The outer surfaces of the bridges are polished after PVD to remove the coating, creating a strong contrast in color and creating a stunning mirror finish on the beveled areas.

　The gaps in the bridge allow a view of the rhodium-plated gears, and the flying tourbillon, highlighted at 6 o'clock, rotates gracefully at a low frequency of 21,600 vph. The openworked rotor and intricately constructed mechanism can be seen from both the dial side and the case back. The black and silver exterior is accented by the red-painted chronograph hands.

Newly designed 43mm case

　The cutting-edge movement is housed in a newly designed 43mm titanium case based on ergonomics. The surfaces of the bezel and caseback are sandblasted, and the large chamfered edges are hand-polished, just like the Royal Oak Offshore collection.

　The screw-down crown and wide pushers are crafted from black ceramic and feature a sophisticated curve along with the guards. The titanium case back, fitted with a sapphire crystal, has a satin-brushed finish and is engraved with a shining engraving certifying that this is a limited edition of 100 pieces worldwide.

Easily interchangeable straps

　One good piece of news shared by the new Royal Oak Offshore collection announced in 2021 is the adoption of easily interchangeable straps. This mechanism, called the Double Push System, allows you to easily remove the strap by pressing two stud protrusions from the case back, either simultaneously or one at a time. This is safe and secure, and there is no need to worry about the strap coming off while wearing it.

　In addition to the black rubber strap that comes with this model, a top-of-the-line black alligator strap with large bamboo stripes is also included, eliminating the need for a screwdriver, making it possible to easily change the look of the watch to suit your mood.
