The latest addition to Corum's Admiral collection is the Admiral 45 Tourbillon Openwork Carbon & Gold. The case is made of a special material that combines carbon fiber with 18K gold powder, making it a rare and complicated watch limited to just 48 pieces worldwide.

First use of cutting-edge new materials

　Corum has added the Admiral 45 Tourbillon Openwork Carbon & Gold to its Admiral collection. As the name suggests, this model features a hollowed-out movement and a flying tourbillon.

　The Admiral Collection is a series launched by the company in 1960, named after the Admiral's Cup, said to be the world's most demanding yacht race. Since its launch, it has produced many variations, repeatedly evolving and reinterpreting its roots in the Maison's DNA. Its 12-sided bezel, modeled after the nuts used on yachts, and its design, modeled after the nautical pennants used for communication between ships, have been popular with sea lovers.

　This new watch is an avant-garde piece that embodies Corum's innovative spirit. Worth noting is the use of a new material for the case. The large 45mm case is made of ultra-light carbon, a material with excellent strength, to reduce weight, and is a special material made by mixing 18K rose gold powder into it. This is the brand's first new material, and unlike standard forged carbon, it gives off a more dazzling impression.

　The movement is equipped with Corum's proprietary automatic caliber "CO298." The flying tourbillon, which requires precise adjustment, can be admired as it gracefully rotates at a low vibration rate of 21,600 vph. Openworked bridges support the barrel housing the mainspring at 12 o'clock, the power reserve at 3 o'clock, and the small seconds at 9 o'clock. The owner will enjoy the display of these parts, a feature unique to an in-house movement.

　The strap, designed to seamlessly connect with the integrated lugs, is a bi-material design with synthetic fiber on the front and rubber on the back, and is combined with gold-colored stitching to match the carbon case accented with gold powder.
