The Aquaracer Professional 300 upgrades six features of the collection, which since 1983 has always offered practical features divers can rely on in the depths of the ocean, including a unidirectional rotating bezel, screw-down crown, 200m water resistance, luminescent indexes, sapphire crystal, and a double safety clasp.

Original Heuer Ref. 844

Heuer Reference 844

The history of the Aquaracer began with the Heuer Ref. 844, a diver's watch introduced in 1978. This model's distinctive dial design featured a red 24-hour scale, luminous hour markers, and a rotating diver's bezel with a highly visible minute track for safely measuring dive times. It became the industry standard for reliable diver's watches and was adopted by many professional and amateur divers around the world. In the 40 years since the watch's release, TAG Heuer has continued to push the boundaries of diver's watch design and performance through commemorative models such as the Night Diver, worn by the world's most famous secret agent, and the 1000 and 2000 series. The Ref. 844 has become a collector's favorite.

Updated 12-sided unidirectional rotating bezel

Aquaracer Professional 300

The teeth on the bezel's interior as well as the surface have been redesigned to make the rotating mechanism smoother, quieter, and easier to set. The sapphire crystal has also been upgraded, and the calendar at 6 o'clock now features a magnifying glass on the inside of the crystal, giving it a smoother surface to the touch. This simple yet effective improvement allows the date to be read from a wider angle.

The development team began with the Aquaracer's most visually striking and instantly recognizable element: its 12-sided unidirectional rotating bezel. While retaining the same basic shape throughout the collection, the designers evolved it by integrating a scratch-resistant ceramic insert and adding grooves to each of the 12 facets, making the bezel easy to turn no matter which facet you are holding.

Wide sword-shaped hour hand and narrow minute hand

Aquaracer Professional 300

The new model features a wide, sword-shaped hour hand and a narrow minute hand, reminiscent of the final model of the TAG Heuer 2000 series, introduced in 2004, making the two hands easier to distinguish in low light. For a clearer display, the designers chose green Super-LumiNova® for the hour hand and blue Super-LumiNova® for the minute hand. The crown protection has also been revised, with a softer, more rounded cupping, similar to that of the Reference 844.

Lightweight and ergonomic design

Aquaracer Professional 300

More and more people are choosing diver's watches for their robustness and versatility, but at the same time, they also want a watch that can be worn both at work and at home. With this in mind, the designers made the Aquaracer's overall form thinner and lighter. Without compromising the watch's basic performance, such as its 300-meter water resistance (30 bar), the case, bezel, and metal bracelet have all been slimmed down, improving durability. The lugs have been shortened, and the case edges are chamfered and polished, further harmonizing with the watch's visual appearance and creating a more refined impression. The result is a lighter, more ergonomic watch.

Diving helmet engraved on the case back

Aquaracer Professional 300

To complete the visual look of the Aquaracer Professional 300, designers returned to the diving helmet motif engraved on the case back of the Aquaracer, which first appeared in 2004. Reflecting the new facets, the diving helmet has been given a more angular shape and a dodecahedral faceplate has been added. Behind it, the hexagonal motif is repeated. The case back is also always perpendicular to the case, ensuring the helmet stands upright.

Stretchable bracelet up to 1.5 cm

Aquaracer Professional 300

Both models feature a newly designed integrated metal bracelet with an ingenious micro-adjustment system that allows the bracelet to be extended by up to 1.5 cm, making it possible to resize the bracelet for wearing over a wetsuit or to adjust the bracelet to suit changing weather and temperatures without having to remove the watch.
