IWC [2021 New Model] The "Big Pilot's Watch 43" is a smaller version than the previous model.

The Big Pilot's Watch series, which has a large case diameter of over 46mm, now has a new three-hand model with a reduced size of 43mm.With its minimalist and simple functions, it has become popular with a wider range of users.

A friendly size

　IWC announced the Big Pilot's Watch 43, a 43mm stainless steel model, as a new addition to Watches & Wonders 2021. Previous Big Pilot's Watch models in the lineup featured calendars and power reserves, and as the "Big" name suggests, they had large cases measuring 46.2mm in diameter.

　However, the new model has reduced the case diameter by more than 3mm to a more familiar 43mm, and has eliminated all functions except for the hour, minute, and second hands, which is good news for those who were hesitant to buy one due to the size.

The Big Pilot's Watch collection embodies IWC's history in pilot's watches, with its large conical crown, simple and highly legible dial, and calf leather strap with four rivets, all reminiscent of military observation watches from the 1940s.

　This model comes in two dial options: a sunburst blue dial reminiscent of the blue sky, and a matte black dial that retains the feel of the original model. By limiting the number of functions, the watch offers exceptional visibility and clarity.

　The case back, water-resistant to 100 meters, is transparent, allowing visitors to admire IWC's in-house caliber 82100. It boasts a power reserve of approximately 60 hours and is equipped with the Pellaton automatic winding system, developed by Albert Pellaton, for efficient winding. The gears that mesh during winding, as well as the pawls that move them, are made of zirconium oxide ceramic, dramatically improving durability.

　This model also features the EasyX Change System, which allows you to easily change the strap without tools. You can choose from the included leather strap or stainless steel bracelet, or purchase a new bracelet yourself at an authorized retailer or the official online store.
