　Maurice Lacroix announced the new Aikon Master Grand Date, featuring an openworked dial, as a new addition to Watches & Wonders 2021. The company's hit Aikon series is a collection that maintains high quality and sophisticated design while maintaining a reasonable price. It has also gained popularity for incorporating elements of luxury sports, a recent trend, and featuring superior finishes that exceed its price.

　This latest model combines the sporty elements of the Icon series with the spirit of movement manufacturing cultivated in the Masterpiece series. The Icon's unique style, featuring a polyhedral design with dynamic lines, a bracelet integrated with the case, arms attached to the bezel, and an emphasis on the contrast between matte and polished finishes, is complemented by the new in-house caliber ML331, developed in-house.

　The new caliber, which was created based on a new design concept and applies the structure of the previous model, Masterpiece Gravity, is designed to display offset hour and minute hands, a small second hand, and two large date windows in a balanced manner on the dial.

　The most eye-catching feature is the balance wheel at 8 o'clock. Supported firmly by a curved, skeletonized, double-supported bridge, the exposed movement is incorporated into the overall design of the watch. The movement of the escapement, from the large, screwed balance wheel to the pallet fork and escape wheel, can be seen directly through the openworked dial.
