The Grande Seconde Skeleton Fair 2021 is currently being held at the Jaquet Droz Boutique Ginza

The Grande Seconde Skeleton, a new artistic interpretation of the brand's signature Grande Seconde collection, maximizes visibility of the watch's structural framework and allows light to penetrate its mechanism. Launched in 2018 to commemorate the brand's 280th anniversary, it has now become one of the brand's signature models. To celebrate the release of the first of its 2021 new releases, three Grande Seconde Skeleton Ceramic models, limited to 28 pieces worldwide, Jaquet Droz is hosting the Grande Seconde Skeleton Fair 2021 at the Jaquet Droz Boutique Ginza from Saturday, April 17, 2021 to Wednesday, May 5, 2021 (national holiday).

A ceramic addition to the Grande Seconde Skeleton

　The aim of the Grande Seconde Skeleton was to retain the number "8" that symbolizes the Grande Seconde while allowing light to penetrate to the deepest parts of the mechanism. A sapphire crystal dial is used to allow the skeleton movement to be fully appreciated. The front of the baseplate is openworked, and by removing the casing ring, an even more open structure is achieved. The gold rotor is also openworked, allowing light to diffuse naturally within the movement. The Grande Seconde Skeleton is available in a 41mm red gold or white gold case, as well as a 41.5mm black ceramic or plasma ceramic case.

Plasma ceramic is forged in a high-temperature kiln to create a metallic sheen without adding metal particles. This molecular-level color change gives the model a chromatic harmony without losing any of the inherent properties of ceramic.
