Ball Watch, which develops robust and highly reliable practical mechanical watches, has announced a new model in the Roadmaster collection, which has been fully launched in Japan since 2019. The new Roadmaster Pilot GMT, a multi-time model following the well-received Roadmaster Marine GMT, features an updated GMT mechanism for pilots and a bezel finished in the popular colors of "red and blue" or "red and black." This special edition model will also be available in limited quantities and will be available at authorized retailers nationwide from November 2021.

Roadmaster Pilot GMT

Ball Watch, which built a high-precision watch inspection system for American railroads in the late 19th century, has given its current collection names derived from railroads, such as "Engineer" and "Stokeman." "Roadmaster" literally means "railroad maintenance man," referring to the person who lays, maintains, and inspects railroad tracks. This collection, which truly supports its users behind the scenes, achieved great success with the release of the "Marine GMT" in 2019. The "Roadmaster Pilot GMT," developed as the second generation of this popular model, features a vibrant two-tone ceramic top bezel in red and blue, commonly known as "Pepsi." Furthermore, while the "Marine GMT" featured a skeletonized 24-hour hand that could be adjusted independently, the "Pilot GMT" features a new mechanism that allows the hour hand to move independently. This is made possible by the installation of a newly developed module.

The hour hand is conveniently adjusted using two pushers on the left side of the case (the pusher at 10 o'clock advances the hour by one hour, and the pusher at 8 o'clock moves the hour back by one hour). This innovative quick-set function is a mechanism developed by Phi Van Tran, head of Ball Watch's R&D department, Patrick Lab. Each pusher alternates between locking and unlocking with a slight rotation (1 click = 60° / 6 clicks = 1 rotation), preventing accidental pressing and ensuring reliable water and dust resistance. The crown can be pulled out up to two positions; the first position allows for setting the date and day of the week, and the second position allows for setting the time.

Rugged Grade 5 Titanium exterior

The exterior incorporates the watch industry's trendy integrated bracelet design, creating a stylish design that complements business attire. The case is crafted from grade 5 titanium, a standard size today, with a diameter of 40mm. In addition to its hardness, light weight, and rust resistance, the surface is meticulously satin-finished. The bracelet is a combination of titanium and stainless steel, optimizing the weight balance for a comfortable fit on the wrist. Furthermore, the case back is set with sapphire crystal for a transparent back, allowing the wearer to enjoy the dynamism of the mechanical movement.
