A new model of the "Eco-Drive One" with a sporty look and water resistance of 5 ATM

Citizen's ultra-thin Eco-Drive One watch is now available with 5 ATM water resistance and a stainless steel bracelet. The 3.88mm thick case features a seamless design that flows seamlessly into the bracelet, adding a sporty touch. Available in two colors with different surface coatings, the watch will be released on July 15, 2021.

Ultra-thin watch with increased practicality

　Two new models have been added to Citizen's Eco-Drive One series. The newly announced models feature an improved case that is water resistant to 5 bar, up from the previous model's water resistance rating for everyday use. The two-piece case with no case back allows for an extremely thin case (3.88mm thick) and improved water resistance.

　The stainless steel case and bracelet have been given a sporty impression along with improved water resistance. The four screws that secure the bezel have been enlarged, and the design is conscious of the seamless connection from the case to the bracelet. The case back has been curved to fit the wrist, further improving the wearing comfort.

　The flat surfaces of the bezel, case, and bracelet are given a fine, delicate hairline finish, and the slope of the bezel is polished to a mirror finish using Zaratsu polishing. By eliminating unnecessary decoration, a refined appearance and an elegant atmosphere have been created.

　The surfaces of the case and bracelet are treated with Citizen's proprietary surface hardening technology, Duratect. The AR5064-57E is coated with Duratect DLC to give it a glossy black finish, while the AR5060-58E is coated with Duratect Platinum to give it a bright silver color. These coatings ensure that both models maintain their beautiful, scratch-resistant appearance.

Incredibly thin movement

　The Eco-Drive One is equipped with the Cal. 8826 movement, one of the thinnest in the world, with a design thickness of just 1.00mm. It contains 85 parts, including a newly designed rotor, coil, and secondary battery.

　The solar cell located beneath the light-transmitting dial converts even the smallest amount of light into electrical energy. Thanks to Citizen's long-standing efforts in the field of photovoltaics to reduce power consumption, the watch can run for approximately one year on a full charge despite its thickness.
