Ulysse Nardin Announces Only Watch Model of its UFO Table Clock

Ulysse Nardin has announced the model it will exhibit at the 9th Only Watch event, scheduled to be held on November 6, 2021. This is a special version of the egg-shaped table clock "UFO," which was released in April as a new product this year, and is based on orange, the theme color of Only Watch.

A unique orange UFO

　Ulysse Nardin has announced the unique pieces that will be auctioned at Only Watch 2021. Only Watch is a watch auction established by the Monegasque Association for Muscular Dystrophy (AMM) under the patronage of Prince Albert II of Monaco. Held every two years, the 2021 auction is scheduled to take place on November 6th.

　The item up for auction this time is not a wristwatch, but a special edition of the egg-shaped table clock "UFO," which was released in April to commemorate the brand's 175th anniversary. The limited edition of 75 pieces, featuring metallic blue, has already sold out and has been highly praised among watch enthusiasts. This new model features an orange color to match this year's Only Watch theme color.

　The spherical aluminum base that serves as the weight for the entire clock, the connecting cylinder of the movement, and the parts that connect the three pillars are all given a special PVD coating (anodized aluminum treatment) and finished in a metallic orange color. The three dials, positioned every 120 degrees, are also orange, but unlike the others, they have a matte finish.

　The 675-part movement displays three time zones and is equipped with six barrels that provide a power reserve of approximately one year. The "UFO" is a work that expresses the vision of Ulysse Nardin's designers, engineers, and watchmakers for what a marine chronometer will look like 175 years from now. The watch celebrates the brand's future while remaining faithful to the aspiration it set for itself 175 years ago in 1846: "to create the ultimate tool for measuring time."

Who will get it?

　Before the auction in November, the watch will be exhibited in a traveling exhibition around the world. The exhibition will kick off at the Monaco Yacht Show (scheduled for September 22-25, 2021), which Ulysse Nardin has sponsored for over 10 years, and will then travel to Dubai, Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taipei. A number of extremely rare and unique pieces will be on display to collectors and enthusiasts from around the world.
