Limited production for one year, Ressence [2021 New Model] "Type 1 Slim Red"

Belgian brand Ressence has announced a new model, the Type 1 Slim Red. The new Type 1 Slim Red features a bold red dial and a matching rubber strap, giving it an energetic warmth. This model will be produced in limited quantities until the end of 2021.

　The new design marks a major step forward for Ressence, which has previously used a more traditional color palette, with the exception of a one-off red Type 3 "MC" created in September 2020 for the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation in support of the Sustainable Development Goals, which also inspired the new model.

The Type 1 Slim was first introduced in 2019 as a thinner, more streamlined evolution of the original Type 1. Notable for this model is not only the slimmer case, down from 13mm to 11mm, but also the move to a one-piece case design. The case and lugs are carved from a single block of grade 5 titanium, creating a sleeker, more modern silhouette. The Type 1 Slim Red features a smooth transition from the case to the strap, enhancing the impact of the vibrant red.

　In keeping with Ressence's philosophy of prioritizing legibility and ease of use, the red dial features white hands and pale gray minute markers, with the hour and minute hands featuring rhodium trim. The dial markers are filled with white and red Super-LumiNova, giving the timepiece a particularly striking look in the dark. Red and white detailing is also present on the case back, where the reference number is displayed in red.
