Every year, 700 historic cars race on the Bugatti Circuit and 8,500 historic cars gather in the club area at the Le Mans Classic. It is expected that the 2022 event will likely surpass the 135,000 spectators recorded in 2018. Richard Mille has been a partner of the race since the first event in 2002. To commemorate this year's Le Mans Classic, the brand will release its eighth Le Mans Classic model, the RM 029 Automatic Le Mans Classic, in a limited run of 150 pieces. Avid fans will instantly recognize the green and white color combination.
RM 029 Automatic Le Mans Classic
The RM 029 Automatic Le Mans Classic has a case measuring 40.10 x 48.15 x 13.10 mm. The caseband is crafted from white Quartz TPT®, while the front bezel and caseback are crafted from green Quartz TPT®. The front bezel features Le Mans' signature double stripes, a first for the brand, which are crafted from white Quartz TPT® inlaid into the green Quartz TPT® bezel at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions. The vividness of this traditional color combination is beautifully enhanced by the sporty white bent rubber strap, ensuring excellent comfort over long periods of wear.
Automatic (cal. RMAS7). 32 jewels. 28,800 vph. Green and white Quartz TPT® (48.15mm x 40.1mm, 13.1mm thick). Power reserve: approximately 55 hours. Water resistant to 50m. Price: 2167 million yen (tax included).
The skeletonized grade 5 titanium caliber RMAS7 features an oversized date display at 4 o'clock and a unique variable-geometry rotor system that drives the twin winding barrels at its heart. A meticulously crafted 24-hour display (blued hand) at 2 o'clock pays homage not only to the racing event but also to the hundreds of cars and drivers who competed over the course of the 24 hours.
