A special two-strand paradox
Chanel has unveiled a special set of two watches, the J12 Paradox Only 2, for this year's Only Watch event. The biennial event is organized by the Monegasque Association against Muscular Dystrophy under the patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco.
Since its inception in 2005, the auction has attracted the world's most renowned watch brands, and the 2021 edition marks its ninth year. The many precious, unique pieces on offer will be exhibited in a traveling exhibition around the world before the auction begins. Starting at the Monaco Yacht Show, the exhibition will travel to Dubai, Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taipei, before finally deciding on their owners on November 6th.

The "J12 Paradox Only 2," being exhibited at Only Watch, is based on the ambitious "J12 Paradox," released in 2020. Amazingly, Chanel has succeeded in cutting both black and white highly resistant ceramic and combining them. Cutting extremely hard ceramic and manufacturing a case that does not allow for even the slightest deviation are feats that can only be achieved by a manufacturer that has mastered highly specialized techniques.
Unlike the glossy regular model, this specially produced unique piece has a matte finish. It comes in a set of two, one with a predominantly white finish and one with a predominantly black finish. It is equipped with the highly accurate Cal. 12.1 movement, certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute, and is coated in a black finish, unlike the regular model.
The bezel, one of the J12's distinctive features, has no Arabic numerals or bars, and is cut to resemble a paving of baguette-cut precious stones, giving it a special look.
