A new model has been released, a reproduction of a vintage Citizen model nicknamed "Tsuno Chrono."

Citizen has released a new watch called "TSUNO CHRONO," which is a reproduction of the design of the "Chronograph Challenge Timer" released in 1973. It will be released in early October 2021, but pre-orders will begin on August 1st.

Citizen's first chronograph model is reissued

　A new model, "TSUNO CHRONO," will be released from "RECORD LABEL," a line of unique Citizen models.

　The new model announced this time is a reproduction of the "Chronograph Challenge Timer," Citizen's first watch with a chronograph function, which was released in 1973. The name "Tsunochrono" comes from the fact that the two push buttons located at the 12 o'clock position on the case resemble animal horns, hence the nickname.

　The unique, smoothly curved appearance remains intact, and the distinctive two-push button design is a reproduction of the original model. The sharp-edged black bezel tightens the overall look of the watch. The 38mm stainless steel case, combined with the metal bracelet, provides excellent wearability.

　The biggest difference from the original model is the movement. While the original was equipped with a mechanical automatic movement, this reissue model is equipped with a quartz movement. As a result, the chronograph subdial has been moved slightly inward, and the placement of the calendar window has also been changed.

Shop-exclusive collaboration model

　In addition to the standard model that is faithful to the original, models created in collaboration with five retailers were also announced. Each model, which will be sold exclusively at fashion select shops BEAMS, BEAUTY&YOUTH, and JOURNAL STANDARD, watch shop Ontime Move, and American leather brand Red Monkey, all feature unique color schemes.
