The long-awaited automatic model from Tissot's "Tissot PRX" collection has arrived

Following the much-anticipated release of the Tissot PRX Quartz in February 2021, a new version equipped with a mechanical automatic movement, the Tissot PRX Automatic, has been released. Pre-sales began on August 20th at Tissot boutiques and the official online store, with general release on September 1st.

The mechanical model fans have been waiting for

　Tissot has announced a new addition to its popular Tissot PRX collection in 2021. More than 40 years after the original model was released in the late 1970s, the Tissot PRX Quartz was released in February of this year. Its affordable price, popular retro and sporty design, and beautiful finish that exceeds its price tag quickly made it a hit.

　Since the introduction of the quartz model, available in three colors, fans' demand for an automatic model from the Tissot PRX collection has gradually grown, and the "Tissot PRX Automatic" was finally released in August 2021. It comes in the same three colors as the quartz model, but there are also some minor changes to the exterior.

　The design of the case and bracelet is almost the same as the quartz model. Like the quartz model, this model has no lugs, with the 40mm diameter case seamlessly transitioning into wide links on the bracelet. The bracelet, designed to be both flexible and maneuverable, provides a comfortable fit.

　In addition, the beautiful finish that is synonymous with the new PRX is still present in the automatic model. Tissot's watchmaking techniques, which have been cultivated over its long history, can be seen in both the matte satin finish and the soft polished finish.

　The dial has undergone a major change on the exterior. While the quartz model had a flat finish, this model features a three-dimensional "embossed checkered pattern dial." This relief, available in three colors: silver gray, blue, and black, is proof that it is an automatic model.

　The use of metal bar indexes gives the dial a three-dimensional and luxurious feel, and the date window at 3 o'clock has a chamfered applied frame. Additionally, the hands are coated with Super-LumiNova, ensuring visibility in the dark.

Powermatic 80

　The words "Powermatic 80" are inscribed at the 6 o'clock position on the dial, indicating that this watch is mechanical and equipped with Tissot's original movement, Cal. Powermatic 80.

　As the name suggests, this watch has a long power reserve of up to 80 hours and uses a hairspring made from Nivachron™, a special non-magnetic alloy with excellent magnetic resistance. Because it is resistant to magnetism, which has a direct effect on the accuracy of a watch, it is easier to maintain high accuracy even in today's lifestyle surrounded by digital devices.
