Oris Okavango Air Rescue Limited Edition celebrates 10 years of Botswana's Air Medical Rescue Service

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Botswana's Air Medical Rescue Service, Oris has unveiled the Okavango Air Rescue Limited Edition, a limited edition Big Crown ProPilot model inspired by the nature of the Okavango Delta.

Okavango Air Rescue (OAR)

　Looking at a map of the vast African continent, one is awed by the diversity of its topography and population distribution. In 2011, Swiss entrepreneur Christian Gross and German-born physician Mischa S. Kruk founded Okavango Air Rescue (OAR), an aeromedical rescue team, to provide medical services to Botswana, a country with a population scattered across many remote regions. The two moved to Botswana in 2011 and, leveraging their respective experiences, established OAR as a private, privately funded organization that provides high-quality medical services to local residents and tourists visiting Botswana through a general hospital and helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft.

　Okavango Air Rescue's team consists of doctors, pilots, nurses, paramedics, and administrative staff, some of whom are from Botswana but also from around the world. The organization began by providing emergency medical care and emergency transport, but has since expanded to provide comprehensive medical care. The organization operates two Pilatus PC-12 fixed-wing aircraft, two Bell Jet Ranger 206 III helicopters, and a general hospital.
