Corum's new 2021 model, the Admiral 38 Automatic, is now on sale

Corum's new Admiral 38 Automatic, announced in May 2021, is now on sale. Available exclusively in Japan, the new model comes in three colors and features a comfortable stainless steel bracelet. The 38mm case diameter will fit comfortably on Japanese wrists.

A Japan-exclusive model featuring a comfortable bracelet

　Corum has begun selling three new models of the Admiral 38 Automatic, which was announced in May 2021. The watches retain iconic elements from the original model that debuted in 1983, such as the dodecagonal bezel inspired by the nuts used on yachts and other ships, and the colorful indexes that are modeled after nautical pennants used for communication between ships.

　The Admiral 38 Automatic, named after the Admiral's Cup, a yacht race said to be the most grueling in the world's ocean-going races, features a "gun blue" case color reminiscent of the vast ocean, which was cutting-edge even at the time. Two new models, the Admiral 38 Automatic, also feature a gun blue exterior and are available exclusively in Japan, featuring a new type of stainless steel bracelet. The modest 38mm case diameter is designed to fit comfortably on Japanese wrists, and the flexible three-link bracelet is comfortable to wear even for long periods of time.

　While the watch features a simple three-hand design with a date display, the two multi-layered dials create a sense of depth. The upper layer is inspired by a ship's compass, with nautical pennant-shaped indexes at each end. The lower layer features fine circular grooves that catch the light and change their appearance.

　In addition to the two "gun blue" models, a model with an uncoated case and bracelet will also be released. The satin and polished stainless steel exterior complements the white dial, and the colorful nautical pennant indexes add an accent to the watch. This model is also limited to Japan.
