Audemars Piguet launches the Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph / 42mm, an evolution of the original Royal Oak Offshore from 1993.

Audemars Piguet has introduced three new versions of the original 1993 Royal Oak Offshore: the Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph, available in stainless steel, titanium, and 18K pink gold. Retaining the essence of the original timepiece, the three 42mm models feature an in-house automatic flyback chronograph, a new interchangeable strap system, and minor dial changes. The sapphire caseback also makes a comeback, revealing the beautifully hand-finished integrated chronograph.

Further improved performance

　The three new Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph models are powered by the new Caliber 4404, an automatic integrated chronograph movement with axle gearing and a flyback function. Unlike a standard chronograph, the flyback function allows the movement to be stopped, reset, and restarted in one step. The axle gearing works in conjunction with a vertical clutch system to ensure the seconds hand moves precisely and without any jitter when starting or stopping the chronograph. Furthermore, the push-pieces offer a smooth feel, and the patented zero-reset mechanism allows each counter hand to be instantly reset to zero.

Design that connects the past and the present

　The three new Royal Oak Offshore models feature the "Petite Tapisserie" pattern, faithful to the original design. The stainless steel model features the iconic blue dial of the 1993 Royal Oak Offshore, a color known in the Manufacture's archives as "Night Blue, Cloud 50." The pink gold model features a "Night Blue, Cloud 50" dial with pink gold-colored counters that match the case color. The titanium model features a light gray dial with black counters and a black inner bezel. This timepiece retains the vertical counter arrangement of the original Royal Oak Offshore, but the positions of the hour counter and small seconds counter have been reversed: the hour counter is now at 12 o'clock and the small seconds counter is at 6 o'clock. All counters are aligned at the same distance from the center of the dial for easier readability.

Interchangeable bracelets and straps

　These models feature a new interchangeable strap system. This is a first for a metal bracelet; the interchangeability is integrated directly into the buckle and case studs, blending perfectly with the case design. Owners can easily swap straps and buckles with a simple click. The latest 42mm version also comes with a second interchangeable rubber strap, allowing users to swap the metal bracelet for a sporty strap for a more lifestyle look.
