Seiko will release a limited edition model from Credor featuring a dial made with "mokumegane," a metalworking technique passed down since the Edo period. Mokumegane is a unique Japanese processing technique that was invented 400 years ago during the Edo period for sword fittings. It involves layering multiple pieces of metal of different colors, carving and twisting them, and then flattening them to create a wood grain pattern. It is a highly complex craft requiring advanced artisanal skills that can only be mastered by those skilled in both engraving and forging. Today, it is primarily used in jewelry due to its beauty, and one of its greatest features is that it retains its beautiful texture for many years without fading.

The unique wood grain dial design is based on the mystical motif of "Auspicious Clouds." "Auspicious Clouds" is a collective term for rare, radiant clouds known as "saiun," which have been considered auspicious since ancient times. The elegant appearance of the dial, which is individually handcrafted by skilled artisans, makes it a rare and worthy gift for wedding anniversaries and other milestone occasions.
The precious metal plates used vary in type and quantity, with 12 layers for men's watches and 13 layers for women's watches, and the overlapping metal can be seen in the calendar window at 3 o'clock.
