A new collection has been released that inherits the name of Seiko's signature chronograph, the Speedtimer.

Seiko Prospex has released a new collection, "Speedtimer." The lineup includes a limited edition model inspired by the stopwatch used in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, as well as classic regular models. In addition, four regular models equipped with solar panels are also available. This new collection, offering a wide range of options, is scheduled to go on sale on Saturday, November 6th.

　Seiko has announced the new "SPEEDTIMER" collection, which embodies the technology and passion for "accurate timekeeping" that it has cultivated over the past 50 years. Taking its name from the legendary "Speedtimer" chronograph, which was released in 1969 and can be considered a milestone for Seiko, the collection is made up of several noteworthy models.

The stopwatch that supported athletes is now available in the form of a wristwatch

　The Prospex Speedtimer Mechanical Chronograph Limited Edition, featuring a classic appearance with excellent visibility, is a limited edition model that symbolizes the debut of the new Speedtimer. Its design is modeled after the historic stopwatch that supported athletes attempting to break records at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics.

　This watch features a white dial with black lettering and scale, retaining elements of a stopwatch. The chronograph seconds hand, with its slightly curved tip, reaches all the way to the tachymeter on the outer edge of the dial, ensuring ample legibility. Like stopwatches of the time, the crown and pushers are large for ease of use.

A regular model that retains the design of the Crown Chronograph

　The Prospex Speedtimer Mechanical Chronograph, which has the same movement and case as the limited edition model mentioned above, is a regular model that retains strong design elements from the Crown Chronograph, the first domestically produced chronograph from 1964.

　The charcoal gray dial, mirror-finished bar indexes, and sword-shaped hour and minute hands create a neo-classical atmosphere. The design inherited from a model that is still loved by many Seiko fans today has been reborn as the new Speed ​​Timer.

　In addition to the two classic mechanical models, the Prospex Speedtimer Solar Chronograph, equipped with a quartz movement equipped with a solar panel, has been added to the lineup. The case, inspired by the distinctive shape of the original Speedtimer, is relatively compact at 39mm in diameter.

　The box-shaped sapphire crystal creates a classic yet sporty look. The combination with the hairline-finished bracelet is a unique feature of the Prospex, a genuine sporty watch. Four different dial colors are available, each with a different feel.
